Ryan Hughes: Skills DVD Review by Martin Moth

It's very useful, although a little advanced for me. However, it's always good to learn the correct technique from scratch than blunder your way through multiple crashes. He's reasonably articulate in explaining what he does and why he takes certain lines (if he was more articulate, he wouldn't be a motocrosser, he'd be a politician!). Making you think about how to tackle the course rather than just rush at it headlong is well worthwhile - be slow into some corners so you can be faster coming out of them, etc.. Considering the amount it costs to run a motorcross/ enduro bike, any skill level would benefit from the £20-odd quid you'd spend on this. The DVD allows you to slo-mo through frames if his riding is still too quick to comprehend!

it's all academic now as I'm off the bike for a month due to wrenching my knee (just as I was getting good at jumping too!)
